Bank Holiday Alert: Will Banks Be Open in Your City on June 6 and 7 ? Here’s What You Need to Know

Planning a bank visit this week? Take note—banks in several parts of India will remain closed on June 6 and 7, 2025, due to Eid al-Adha (Bakrid), as per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar.
Bank Closures – June 6 & 7, 2025
Friday, June 6: Banks will be closed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in observance of Bakrid.
Saturday, June 7: Banks will be closed across most of India, except in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram.
The holiday marks the Islamic festival of Bakrid (also known as Eid ul-Zuha), commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice.
Will Your Bank Be Open on June 7?
Although June 7 is a Saturday, it is not a holiday for all. According to RBI norms, only the second and fourth Saturdays are official bank holidays. Since June 7 falls on the first Saturday, banks in:
