Mild-Hybrid Powertrain Introduced
Toyota has introduced 48V mild-hybrid variants of the Fortuner and Fortuner Legender, marking the first use of mild-hybrid tech in India’s full-size SUV segment.
These variants use the same 2.8-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, now paired with a 48V electric motor and battery system. While power remains at 204 PS, the hybrid setup offers a short torque boost of up to 65 Nm, improving drivability and efficiency. The mild-hybrid system also includes idle start/stop functionality and regenerative braking.
